The rear differential (front) stock bushing goes bad on every 2003-2007 Cadillac CTS, CTS-V, STS (and maybe other Cadillac models and years). When the bushing goes bad the car makes a terrible clunking noise, whenever the centrifugal force on the drive train shifts from power to deceleration. The bad bushing causes the rear differential to jump up and down inside a metal casing that used to house a rubber bushing. And it sounds like the transmission or drives shaft is about to fall out. It is a horrible design flaw from GM engineers. The new factory bushing costs only $20, but it is very difficult to replace. The old rubber center piece just falls out once you disconnect the mount and drive shaft and tilt the differential 45 degrees down. But, you have to cut and hammer out the old sleeve of the mount, which is pressed into differential and that can be rather challenging. I was able to get the old one out by cutting a straight line across the metal sleeve, but I discovered that that was only half of the challenge. You still have to install the new bushing, which is a one piece bushing with a metal sleeve that has to be pressed in (ie: it has the same design flaw one you're replacing). And, it is a one piece bushing so without a press or proper tools, forget it. You may destroy the new bushing, and maybe even break the rear differential aluminum housing. Enter REVSHIFT. Thier 2 piece poly type material (with no metal housing) installs easily. Start by installing one half of the bushing on one side of the differential housing, and the other half on the opposite side. Apply the supplied silicon lubricant to both sides of the bushing, then use the same carrier bolt and nut you took off, with large flat washers against both outer halves of the bushing and slowly tighten the bolt/nut. Goes together smoothly with minimal pressure. No fighting to try to hammer and force in the metal sleeve from the old (bad) design. Car drives like a dream again. The way a Cadillac should. No more noise. Way to go Revshift! You have re-engineered GM's poor design. With excellent engineering and quality. I highly recommend this product.
